4-H Clubs in Caddo County

Being in a 4-H Club is mandatory in Caddo Co. We feel that by being a member of an organization, you are better informed of upcoming events, you are able to participate in group discussions and you have the ability to run for and hold a variety of officer positions. Being a club officer is a big responsibility but there are several people who understand the pressures and stresses and they are there to help you. Those people are the volunteer leaders. The volunteer leaders retrieve their information from the county extension office and they distribute the necessary dates and schedule changes to the clubs via club officers. Already you can see the importance of being in a local club.

There are two types of clubs. One type is a Membership Club. A Membership Club is a club that is organized in your school system through your teachers and parents who work together as volunteer leaders. Many times, these clubs will meet in the school that you attend! If you are home schooled or you attend a private school in another community (or county) you are still welcome to join the Membership Club in town that you live in (as long as you are only involved in Caddo County 4-H). If you click on the words Membership Club above, you will be taken to a list of those clubs.

Another type of club is called the Project Clubs. Project Clubs are organized in a slightly different manner. They still have meetings and officers and as a 4-H'er you still have plenty to be involved in however, there is one club per project that serves the whole county. These volunteer leaders and 4-H members come from families or from businesses across the county. For more information about the Project Clubs that Caddo County offers, click on the words Project Clubs above and you will be taken to a list with the descriptions of each club to see which ones you are eligible to get involved in. You can ONLY be a member of ONE (1) Membership Club but you can be a member of SEVERAL Project Clubs. The choice is yours to learn the most you possibly can!

If you are interested in joining a 4-H Club, please contact the Caddo County 4-H Extension Office at 405-247-3376.
