In this project, members can learn about
the types of trees found in their area. They can also learn how
we are dependent upon trees in our daily life.

- Reproduction Processes
- Parts of a tree
- Function of a tree's parts
- Tree identification
- Why is a tree important
- How important are trees to the forest
ecosystem
- What affects a tree's growth
What members can do: (Beginner level)
- Collect leaves
- Collect seeds from different trees
- Read about trees native to their area
- Visit various wood industries
- Read about the wildlife/forest/ecosystem
- Learn to identify 10 to 20 trees and
how their wood can be used

Oklahoma Forestry Judging |
Supporting materials: Project Learning Tree is a broad based curriculum
that used trees as a window to other subjects. Leaders attend
a 6-hour workshop to receive the materials.
