2002 Farm Bill
Producers need to be checking closely with their local FSA office for the many changes that will be coming out in the new farm bill. Just a couple of notes that are known: Producers harvesting 2002 wheat need to notify the FSA office their intention to sell grain prior to the actual sale and request a Loan Deficiency Payment. Even if there isn't a LDP presently being offered in the producers county, the producer will need to file a request for the LDP due to the pending establishment of the new loan rates to be implemented in the 2002 Farm Bill. Many producers are asking questions as to which way to sign up for the farm bill? There is a website that works off of Excel that has a worksheet that you can enter your numbers and have an idea of what to expect. |
